Noted African American journalist Roland Martin takes leaders back down the campaign trail of President Barack Obama in his latest book, The First: President Barack Obama\'s Road to the White House. His chronological journal of events dates back to the then Senator Barack Obama, who had yet to announce his candidacy in December 2006, and follows him on his journey to the presidency. The charismatic writing style of Martin is presented through his in-depth analysis of the past events during the presidential campaign, revisiting the never-ending 2008 Clinton and Obama campaign battle and the campaign struggles and successes that Obama had. Martin gives readers insight on how each important event played out in front of the nation and offers his perspective on heated campaign moments, the critics, and the debates. Martin also shares interviews from his broadcasts, including an interview he conducted with President Obama after his win in Iowa in January 2008.
